Joshua Sole, MD

Dr. Sole is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and Sports Medicine physician. He received his PM&R training at the world famous Mayo Clinic and fellowship training in Sports Medicine at JPS Health Network/Texas Christian University, the largest primary care sports medicine fellowship in the United States. He specializes in the treatment and prevention of sports and musculoskeletal related injuries.


During his training, Dr. Sole provided medical coverage for Texas Christian University, Texas Wesleyan University, Rochester Community Technical College, USA Hockey, PRCA Rodeo, Golden Gloves Boxing, Special Olympics, multiple local high school teams, multiple mass participation endurance events, and athletes of all ages.


Dr. Sole has been very active academically, teaching ultrasound to fellow physicians, and in research with multiple publications and presentations on sports related injuries and musculoskeletal ultrasound. He has also been active in musculoskeletal medicine education to residents and medical students. Furthermore, during residency Dr. Sole worked to establish a concussion surveillance program through multiple departments at the Mayo Clinic.


He serves as clinical assistant professor for the University  of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine and head team physician for South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. He also continues to serve as a volunteer physician for Justin Boots Sports Medicine Team covering professional rodeo cowboy athletes.
