Ivette Guttman, MD

Ivette R. Guttmann, MD, is a Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician in the Sports Medicine Division of UHealth's Department of Orthopaedics.

Dr. Guttmann brings a wealth of knowledge in Pediatric and Adult primary care sports medicine to the sports medicine field. Dr. Guttmann specializes in the non-operative care of sports-related injuries such as tendinopathies, hip pathologies, and running injuries. She has special interests in the area of running and triathlon injuries, having provided medical event coverage for the Disney Marathon, Lake Placid Ironman, The Great Floridian, and Summer Sports Triathlon Series. She also performs diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures such as viscosupplememtation injections and platelet rich plasma therapy.

A graduate of Florida State University, Dr. Guttmann went on to medical school at la Universidad Autonoma de Centro America. After medical school, she completed her residency at San Juan City Hospital in Puerto Rico. She received additional training and expertise in sports medicine during her time as a fellow at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York.

During her own athletic career, Dr. Guttmann played quarterback in the Women's Professional Football League. In fellowship, Dr. Guttmann provided medical coverage for the New York Giants during training camp. Currently, Dr. Guttmann provides coverage for University of Miami athletics.
